Journalist Jarnail Singh appointed Aam Aadmi Party’s observer for Punjab state

Ludhaina, Punjab (July 13, 2014): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has appointed Journalist Jarnail Singh as observer for Punjab State. Jarnail Singh, a Delhi based former journalist, was Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate during Lok Sabha election 2014 from West Delhi.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that had surprised political circles by securing 28 seats in last Delhi Assembly polls secured 4 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab but the party did not get a single Lok Sabha seat from rest of India.

In this situation the political analysts foresee though going for AAP in Punjab.

The announcement regarding appointment of Jarnail Singh as state observer came after the political affairs committee (PAC) of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) constituted ad hoc committees of the state executive for Punjab, as part of its ongoing ‘Vistaar’ mission. The decision was reportedly taken at a meeting called by the AAP convener, Arvind Kejriwal, on July 11.

Jarnail Singh has been given additional charge to monitor organisation-building exercises in Ferozpur, Fazilka, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Muktsar.

Patiala MP Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi, Sanguru MP Bhagwant Mann, HS Phoolka, Kultar Singh and Fatehgarh Sahib MP Harinder Singh Khalsa will be the state unit’s spokesmen.

Dr. Daljeet Singh will head a three-member disciplinary committee and HS Kingra will be the training coordinator.

“The PAC has constituted these two ad hoc committees for a period ranging from six months to a year. Following this decision, all existing committees of the AAP in the state stand dissolved. The ad hoc committees have been entrusted with the responsibility of building the organisation up to the booth level,” AAP officials reportedly said.
