Chandigarh: Reports in Pakistani media say that Government of Pakistan has sent final draft of the proposed bilateral agreement on Kartarpur Sahib Corridor to the Government of India which is being built between East and West Punjab. Kartarpur Sahib corridor will connect Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib in West Punjab with Dera Baba Nanak in East Punjab to allow yatris from eastern side of Punjab to visit Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib without visa.
A report in The Express Tribune (ET) has reported with reference to sources that the Government of Pakistan has maintained 20 US dollars fee for every pilgrim while also accepting the Indian demand to allow devotees of other faiths – Hindus, Christians, Zoroastrians etc to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib.
“Every day 5,000 pilgrims will be allowed to visit the Sikh religion’s holy site and no restriction on number of yatrees would be put in case of availability of space. India will share the list of pilgrims ten days before their visit. Pakistan will verify the list and finalise it four days before their visit”, reads ET report.
“The agreement will be signed by both the parties once India agrees to it. Later, it will be ratified by the cabinet of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The agreement will be signed either at the Zero Point of Lahore’s Wagah border or Kartarpur border”, ET report reads further.
