Shaheeds of Saka Nakodar.

Shaheed Bhai Ravinder Singh’s father S. Baldev Singh while sharing the details said that like previous years this year too we will be observing the yearly anniversary, and a Shaheedi conference will be organised on Sunday, 4 February 2018 at 10:00 am onwards.

Both the family members of the Shaheed Singhs and Gurdwara committee appealed the Sikh Sangat to make the Shaheedi conference a success by maximizing their participation and pay their tributes to the Singhs who sacrificed their lives for the honor of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

ABOUT SAKA NAKODAR:

On the 4th February 1986, Sikh Student Federation (SSF) members and local Sikhs gathered in city of Nakodar to collect the Saroops of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji which were desecrated and burnt in Shri Guru Arjan Dev Gurdwara, Nakodar on 2nd February 1986.

That day four innocent Sikh young men were murdered by the Punjab police and Indian para-military forces while they were peacefully protesting against the desecration of Shri Guru Granth Sahib. The police opened fire at this unarmed and peaceful gathering of Sikhs. This unprovoked and unjustified violence by the police killed Bhai Ravinder Singh Littran, Bhai Baldhir Singh Ramgarh and Bhai Jhilman Singh Rajowal-Gorcian. The fourth victim, Bhai Harminder Singh Chaluper, was executed at point-blank range by the police inspector Jaskirat Chahal after being challenged by name while in a shelter.

The Judicial inquiry report into this incidence was never made public and the murderers were never brought to Justice:

The Punjab government has failed to table the Justice Gurnam Singh’s judicial inquiry report until today. Those involved in the beadbi of Shri Guru Granth Sahib or the police officers who murdered the innocent Sikhs were never brought to justice.
