Srinagar: Today (March 20, 2015) marks the 15th anniversary of the Chittisinghpura massacre when 35 innocent Sikhs were cold bloodedly murdered in the small village two-and-a-half-hours drive from Srinagar.
Expressing concerns over the denial of justice to the victims and 15 years of impunity, senior leader of Hurriyat Conference Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman of National Front Nayeem Ahmad Khan has demanded impartial probe into Chattisinghpora massacre.
In a statement released to the media Nayeem Khan said “Chattisinghpora and Pathribal like tragedies are an eye-opener for international community to imagine the situation of Kashmir which has witnessed countless number of massacres over the years.”
“Despite passing of 15 years, the families of the victims are still awaiting justice,” he said.
He paid rich tributes to the victims of Chattisingpora and Pathribal massacres.
A UK based Sikh body, Sikh Federation UK has has urged UK and US government to facilitate an international inquiry into massacre of 35 Sikhs in Chittisinghpura and subsequent cover up.
