Amritsar, Punjab: A Sikh delegation submitted a memorandum to Akal Takht on Nov. 30, expressing support for Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who has been on hunger strike to press for the release of Sikh political prisoners.
In the memorandum to the Akal Takht Jathedar, the Sikh delegation asked Giani Gurbachan Singh to step up efforts to secure the release of the imprisoned Sikh youths.
They said there was deep resentment among the Sikhs over his failure to honour his word which had forced Bhai Gurbaksh Singh to go on an indefinite fast, this time at Gurdwara Lakhnor Sahib in Ambala.
Kanwarbir Singh of ‘International Sikh Organization’ said Bhai Gurbaksh Singh had not had food for the past 16 days and his health was deteriorating.
