Sangrur/Dhuri: Sikh Jatha Malwa, a group active in the regional Panthic sphere dedicated to reviving the traditions of the Khalsa Panth, held a discussion on “The Adab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the True Role of Gurdwara Sahibs” on March 31, 2025, at Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib in Dhuri. This event marked the first in a series of planned discussions on these topics announced by the Sikh Jatha Malwa.

Several representatives from regional Gurdwara committees and prominent figures within the Sikh community participated in this internal dialogue, sharing their perspectives. Unlike the lecture-style format that has become common in recent times, the discussions were conducted in the traditional Sikh Goshti form.

Participants explored the Panthic tradition of Adab (showing reverence) to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib and emphasized the multifaceted role of Gurdwaras as centers of spirituality, education (patthshala), healthcare (Shafakhana), shelter for the vulnerable (loh mai durg), community kitchens (Langar), and Sarai (rest house) for Yatris (travelers). They also assessed the current state of Gurdwara management, highlighting issues and shortcomings in the existing system, and deliberated on potential solutions to restore these traditional practices.
Representatives of Sikh Jatha Malwa informed Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over the phone that additional discussions are planned in the near future to continue this initiative.
