Slough Sikhs oppose screening of Nanak Shah Fakir film; Movie fails to trigger response

Slough/ London: The screening of Nanak Shah Fakir film was opposed by a number of Sikhs at Slough. The movie was being screened by Empire Cinema. A groups of Sikhs held a peaceful protest outside the cinema hall to register their protest against the controversial movie, which violates established tenets of the Sikh panth.

Empire Cinema held a show of Nanak Shah Fakir film at 19:50 hrs local time on April 17. Sikh devotees, who are opposing the movie, assembled outside the cinema hall at around 19:00 hrs. They were holding black flags as token of their protest.

Local sources told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that the movie failed to trigger any response from the audience as only 5 people turned out to watch the show. While only 2 persons turned out to watch the second show.

Empire Cinema has not stopped the screening yet, therefore the Sikh sangat will be holding another protest today (April 18).

Meanwhile, the screening of the movie was cancelled throughout Canada. The film has already been banned in Punjab and Chandigarh. The screening of the movie was stopped in various cinema halls in Delhi after protests from the Sikh sangat.
