Amritsar: The Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwale (SYFB) today (Jan. 20) honoured Sarabjeet Singh Ghumaan, author of book on former Punjab police chief KPS Gill. The book titled “Punjab Da Butcher” (The Butcher of Punjab) was released by Akal Takht Sahib head granthi Giani Jagtar Singh few days back.
SYFB organised a Gurmat Samagam at Gurdwara Sahib, Sultanwind Road, Amritsar. The Sangat recited the “Sukhmani Sahib” Gurbani and Ardas was performed before Guru Granth Sahib.
SYFB president Balwant Singh Gopala praised the contribution of Sarabjeet Singh Ghumaan and made specific mention of his new book which calls KPS Gill as the butcher of Punjab. He said that it was a duty of the Sikh organisations to honour the authors who use their pen fearlessly to bring forth the truth.
“Punjab Da Butcher – KPS Gill” is compilation of various write-ups by activist and author Sarabjeet Singh Ghuman. The book tells about widespread, organised and systematic abuse of human rights committed against the civilian Sikh population of Punjab by the Punjab police under KPS Gill’s command.
The youth group also honoured Ranjeet Singh, editor of Khalsa Fatehnama magazine.
