Bhai Daljit Singh was booked by the Punjab police under notorious law called “Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act” for political reasons.

Mandhir Singh released from Nabha Jail

Nabha (May 14, 2011): A youth leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) and former President of Sikh Students Federation, Mandhir Singh, got released on bail from Maximum security jail Nabha today. Bail was granted to Mandhir Singh on last Wednesday by Mansa Court upon failure of prosecution to file chargesheet against him with in specified statutory limit of 90 days. Panch Pardhani is led by Bhai Daljeet Singh Bittu, who is currently lodged in Amritsar Jail, allegedly for political reasons.

Former SSF President gets bail, release expected in coming days

Mansa (May 11, 2011): Bhai Mandhir Singh, former president of Sikh Students Federation, got bail in Mansa case. Mandhir Singh was arrested by Mansa police on 18 January, 2011. His arrest had raised many questions on working of Punjab police and later developments seems to affirm the allegation that police was working under political pressure.
