Indian intelligence agency named Intelligence Bureau (IB) has reportedly raised alarm with India’s Ministry of Home affairs about a spurt in the production of Punjabi films on stories related to ‘Ghallughara 1984’ and the aftermath.
Chandigarh/ Punjab (September 2, 2014): Few days back pirates attempted to release Punjabi movie, Kaum De Heere, which is banned in India, on video sharing service/website YouTube. The movie was reportedly watched by thousands of people with in few hours of uploading. Now, a pirated version of the movie is available for download on torrent sites.
Amritsar, Punjab (August 31, 2014): One of the top leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and Punjab Education minister has reportedly opposed screening of Kaum De Heere movie saying that it glorified “terrorists”, however there are good reasons to believe that Daljit Cheema said so without even watching the movie.
Chandigarh/ Punjab (August 30, 2014): Banned Punjabi Movie Kaum De Heere was recently uploaded to Video sharing website YouTube by someone but the producers of the movie was quick enough to get it removed from the website
Amritsar, Punjab (August 26, 2014): According to Daljit Singh Bedi, additional secretary of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC), SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar has condemned the ban imposed on release of Punjabi movie Kaum De Heere.
Recently the Govt. of India banned Punjabi movie Kaum De Heere. It was a big news in Indian newspapers. I'll like to share some of the comments I wrote on Times of India website and some of my counter comments in reply to some of the other people making comments. I hope you'll find them interesting.

New Delhi, India (August 23, 2014): Much awaited Punjabi movie “Kaum De Heere” was again banned by Indian government on August 21, just a day before it's released in India. The movie was previously banned by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on January 29, 2014. The initial date of release of the movie was February 28. But after the Indian authorities decided against the movie, it was released outside India on March 14.

Chandigarh/ New Delhi (August 21, 2014): Media reports suggest that India may re-impose ban on Punjab Movie Kaum De Heere that was set to be released tomorrow (August 22). India's Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has expressed reservation and alleged serious concern over the contents of a Punjabi film which is based on life and sacrifice of Sikh martyrs - Shaheed Beant Singh, Shaheed Kehar Singh and Shaheed Satwant Singh.
Chandigarh/ Punjab (August 20, 2014): Congress and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) have finally found some issue on which they seem united. The political parties that always remain in search of issue to hit each other, have demanded ban on Punjabi film Kaum De Heere, which is said to be based on life and sacrifice of Sikh martyrs Bhai Beant Singh, Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh. The issue is also joined by Shiv Sena.
Chandigarh/ Punjab (August 17, 2014): It is learnt that Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) has come out to oppose the the screening of Punjabi movie 'Kaum de Heere', saying that the movie 'glorifies' the assassins of former Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi.
As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), Punjabi lyricist-cum-singer Raj Kakra’s début Punjabi movie “Kaum De Heere” will be released across India on August 22. The movie was banned by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India on February 28, 2014. But now the ban has been lifted.
New York, United States (March 14, 2014): Punjabi film “Kaum De Heere”, based on events related to assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is facing a ban in India, but it was released today in United States (USA) besides some other parts of the world.
Melbourne, Australia (March 13, 2014): Punjabi film “Kaum De Heere”, based on events related to assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has been banned in India, but it shall be released in Australia on March 14. India's Central Board of Film Certification had declined to grant requisite certificate to the movie on January 29.
Melbourne, Australia (March 09, 2014): Lyricist turned actor Raj Kakra's début movie “Kaum De Heere” shall be released in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, United States of America and Canada on March 2014, but it it's release in India remains under clouds as India's Central Board of Film Certification has banned the screening of this movie.
Chandigarh/ Punjab (March 07, 2014): It is learnt that India's Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has banned Punjabi movie '47 to 84 – Ek Peed'. The movie is said to be based on sufferings of people who witnessed partition of 1947 and mass massacre of 1984.
Chandigarh, Punjab (February 09, 2014): It is learnt that producers of “Kaum De Heere” Punjabi movie have submitted their movie before the revision committee. It may be recalled that the CBFC had banned the movie on January 29.
