The Sikh Youth Front (SYF) has welcomed the efforts started by Punjab Government in response to Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s struggle for the release of political Sikh prisoners. In a written statement, SYF general secretary Papalpreet Singh said that the Punjab Government should secure premature release of political Sikh prisoners who have already served mandatory terms of their life imprisonment.

Chandigarh: Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has renewed his pledge to secure the release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their prison terms. Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa reportedly submitted a memorandums to Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Governor Shivraj Patil on Wednesday (Oct. 01) seeking their intervention in the matter.
