At a major international conference inside the US Capitol, the Sikh Federation International made a powerful case for Sikh self-determination, highlighting India's human rights violations and transnational repression.
At the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, the Sikh Federation International and Baku Initiative Group launched a report calling for an independent UN fact-finding mission to investigate India’s alleged transnational repression and violence against Sikh dissidents worldwide.
Recently, when Mr Sergio Gor took charge as the US Ambassador to India, the Dal Khalsa wrote a letter seeking his attention to a matter of urgent regional concern and the challenges being faced by the people of Punjab.
The Sikh Federation (UK) has renewed its call for transparency from the UK government following what it describes as new evidence relating to alleged transnational repression by Indian authorities targeting Sikh activists abroad, including in the United Kingdom.
In this speech he discussed the Sikh experience of their interaction with the United Nations and the Indian state, the components of the Indian state, and what Sikhs need to do in order to get the human rights issued properly addressed at the UN level and within the Indian system.
