Patiala (August 17, 2010): Today Bhai Surinderpal Singh Tharua, General Secretary of SAD (Panch Pardhani), passed away. He was a close associate of Sikh leader Bhai Daljeet Singh Bittu and worked for Sikh Students Federation after 1984. He spent nine years in Jail during Sikh Struggle for Khalistan, and after being released from jail, he worked hard on various Panthic fronts.
Patiala/Ludhiana (July 15, 2010): Sikh Students Federation welcomed the decision taken by Sri Akal Takhat Sahib to address happenings of November 1984 as “Sikh Genocide”. SSF President Parmjeet Singh Gazi said that in November 1984 Sikhs were subjected to an organized massacre in 18 States and 110 cities of India.
atiala (July 3, 2010): Taking a strong exception to Union minister of water resources, Pawan Kumar Bansal's claim that Punjab's demand for royalty for water was baseless, the Sikh Students Federation has asserted that the Union leader had attempted to misguide the people by saying that “royalty on water does not exist anywhere”.
Patiala (June 26, 2010): The Sikh Students Federation has called upon Punjab Government to Challenge the authenticity of Sections 78-80 of Punjab Reorganization Act (1966) in order to safeguard the interests and riparian rights of the State.
Patiala (June 18, 2010): While asserting that demand of royalty in lieu of water allocated to ‘non-riparian’ states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi is corollary of natural rights of people of Punjab, the Sikh Students Federation claimed that central issue is to claim inherent right over the use and control of river water.
Patiala (June 13, 2010): The Sikh Students Federation, a Punjab based organization of Sikh Students, has welcomed the move undertaken by Sikhs in Canada to get recognition for Sikh massacre of November 1984 as 'Genocide' under International Criminal Law, to be specific under Article 2 of U.N. Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
