It has been widely reported over 100 MPs have urged David Lammy to use all diplomatic efforts to secure the release and return of Jagtar Singh Johal.
The Sikh diaspora in the UK has been established for a long time and remains politically active. They advocate for issues affecting Sikhs, both within the UK and globally, including the Sikh community in East Punjab and India.
It is now clear from the intelligence, law enforcement agencies and governments in the US and Canada (and Pakistan) that the current Indian government led by right wing extremists does not respect the rule of law and the sovereignty of other nations.
