Chandigarh/Punjab (November 10, 2012): It is learnt that four Sikhs who were convicted for participating in an alleged assassination bid against Dera Sauda Sirsa (DSS) head Gurmeet Ram Rahim, have been granted bail by Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Ludhiana/Punjab (November 10, 2012): According to reports Dera Radha Soami Beas head Gurinder Singh Dhillon has held meetings with Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann and Panthic Sewa Lehar Chief Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal. Dhillon reportedly met both the Sikh leaders separately on November 09, 2012.
According to a report released by Public Safety Canada, "words such as "radical", "radicalization", "extremist", "terrorist" and "terrorism" are used interchangeably by some and differentiated by others. The abundance of terms is confusing and can be misleading...Any assessment of an individual's risk for violent extremism should be sensitive to the meaning of these terms, their differentiation from each other, and the intent of the violence." Ludhiana, Punjab (November 09, 2102): It is learnt that Sikhs for Justice, a Human rights and advocacy group pursuing the campaign for international recognition for Sikh Genocide 1984, has written a letter to Indian Minister and Congress Party MP, Preneet Kaur in wake of her comments against Canadian Sikh Diaspora.
London, United Kingdom (November 10, 2012): The Sikh Federation (UK) has been campaigning for many years for the UK Government to end financial aid to India. Today the UK Government announced that aid to India will come to an end. Although all existing financial grants will be honoured, the UK will not sign off any new programmes from now on.
