Rohtak/ Chandigarh (July 22, 2013): Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on July 21, 2013 that the state of Haryana will fight to the last to secure every drop of its share of water. "Water is our first and topmost priority and we will fight to the last to get every drop of our share," Bhupinder Singh Hooda said.
Barnala, Punjab (July 22, 2013): According to media reports Kalala village of the Barnala district has been hit by 'hepatitis C and diarrhoea', with more than 200 of its residents undergoing treatment for these diseases at various government and private hospitals.
Anandpur Sahib, Punjab (July 22, 2013): Heavy rainfall in the hills of Himachal Pardesh has begins to show it's impact in Punjab. It has been reported by some media sections that the residents of 12 villages in the Anandpur Sahib sub-division of Rupnagar district were forced to begin evacuation after flooding as the water level of the Sutlej rose on July 20, 2013.

As per media reports the Haryana state has once again asserted it's claim over the city of Chandigarh. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda reportedly said on July 21, 2013 that Punjab should vacate the Chandigarh if it wanted to set up a new city, called New Chandigarh.
