New York, United States (January 20, 2014): In wake of recent disclosures unearthed by declassification of top secret British documents about Indian government seeking help of Special Air Service (SAS) of the UK in planning deadly armed attack by Indian Army on Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) in June 1984, US based Sikh groups have announced to hold a "Silence Rally" outside the British high commissioners' office in New York on February 3, to demand the British Parliament to immediately pass a "resolution that the action of PM Thatcher of colluding with Indira Gandhi to attack the holiest Sikh shrine was a grave blunder".
Amritsar, Punjab (January 20, 2014): According to information Baba Daya Singh Sursingh, head of Nihang Jathebandi Baba Bidhi Chand Cheena Dal, passed away on Jan. 19 at village Sursingh after a prolonged illness. Baba Daya Singh, an influential personality in Sikh religious affairs and in politics, was 90 years old.
