A delegation of World Sikh Parliament (WSP) today met governor of West Punjab in Pakistan and handed him over a memorandum. The WSP delegation comprised Bhai Joga Singh, Avtar Singh Sanghera, Harvinder Singh and Ranjeet Singh. They met governor Mohammad Sarvar and praised the Pakistan government for taking initiative on Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib corridor to allow Sikh sangat from East Punjab to visit the historic Gurdwara Sahib of Kartarpur Sahib.
The Punjab police today presented Bikramjit Singh of Dhariwal village before the court of Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Radhika Puri in case FIR No. 121/18 registered at police station (PS) Rajasansi on 18 November 2018. The FIR pertains to the incident of a blast in a Nirankari Bhawan at Adliwal village near Rajasansi in which 3 people were killed and around 15 were injured.
In recognition of Malaysia Director Rishiwant ("Rishi") Singh's global humanitarian legacy, the United Sikhs has announced a memorial fund that will help support his grieving family and continue the work of the humanitarian projects he founded. On Nov. 25, Rishi Singh died in a motorbike accident near Guru Nanak Ashram while trying to avoid a collision with another two-wheeler.
Marking the "Mahaparinirvana Day" of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on December 2, the SC/BC Teachers Union Punjab (Distt. Sangrur) and SC/ST Employees Welfare Association of BSNL (Dist. Sangrur) is going to hold a commemorative lecture on topic "Dr. B R Ambedkar's Legacy and Current Challenges".
Speaking during aa Seminar on "Phenomena of Genocide" at Panjab University Chandigarh on November 15, 2018 Dr. Garga Chatterjee shared his views on the topic of “History Of Genocidal Politics In Sub Continent and the World’’.
