Amritsar: Paintings and sculptures of various emerging young artists remained Center of attraction during an four-day exhibition held by ‘Samvad’ at Academy of Fine Arts in on Thursday (January 19).
The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. D. S. Kapoor, chief guest and director of National Institute of Design Kurukshetra (Haryana), who appreciated the efforts made by the members of ‘Samvad’ to promote traditional art which reflects Punjab folklore and Sikh culture.
Surrey (Canada) based artist Parminder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Jagdeep Singh and Jagwinder Singh arrived the Art gallery of the academy to demonstrate their paintings depicting various aspects of Punjabi folk and Sikh way of life.
While, sculptures prepared by Jagwinder Singh were also seen attracting the art-lovers with the creativity of its kind. His work were depicting the trends in the academic field.
“Our motive behind the event is to promote the young artists. Such efforts as well as ensure that their artistic work gets exposer in the society. In future also, we shall plan such kind of activities”, said Mandhir Singh, member of the Samvad.
The chief guest said such initiative would help the emerging artists in getting recognition in the field of art and gaining popularity. The exhibition will last till Jan 22.
