Moga, Punjab (June 15, 2014): After facing heat in recent Lok Sabha elections in Punjab and excited with the winning of three Delhi assembly seats, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has planned to contest assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Announcing the development while talking to media persons in Jammu, senior Badal Dal leader Succha Singh Langah told the reporters in Jammu that the SAD-B had decided to contest the elections. There is majority of Sikhs in various Sikh dominating areas in Jammu and some other areas and SAD-B wants to avail this fact. However, he did not disclose the names or numbers of seats where Akali Dal was planning to field its candidates.

The SAD-B had contested assembly elections in New Delhi and managed to win three seats there while lost at one seat. Party president Sukhbir Singh Badal had already announced that the SAD-B was planning to spread its wings in other states.
