Mukatsar: Three SAD activists yesterday (on January 13) allegedly opened fire on a party member at a meeting in nearby Bhangchari village (Mukatsar) in connection with the Maghi Mela conference on Jan. 14.
A news report by The Tribune says [b]rothers Ramandeep Singh and Mandeep Singh and Jaskaran Singh have been booked on a complaint lodged by 31-year-old Shaminder Singh.
Shaminder alleged that while he was appealing to the public to be seated for a meeting to be addressed by Ferozepur Member of Parliament (MP) Sher Singh Ghubaya and Malout MLA Harpreet Singh, the three asked him to step down.
“Ramandeep and Mandeep were carrying pistols. Jaskaran Singh asked me to climb down the stage. A heated argument ensued. Thereafter, Ramandeep and Mandeep opened fire,” alleged Shaminder, nephew of SGPC member Suba Singh. Sources said the MLA returned without addressing the meeting.
