February 2, 2017 | By

Chandigarh: The sessions court on Wednesday acquitted Pragya Thakur in the former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) pracharak Sunil Joshi murder case, due to lack of evidence in the case against her.

As reported by the Hindustan Times (HT) Additional district and sessions judge Rajiv Madhusudan Apte in his judgment had a critical outlook towards both the the Dewas police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that investigated the case.

While passing the judgement the trial court judge stated: “Both the Dewas police and NIA were very loose in their investigations and it appears they had some preconceived notion about the crime. The way the Dewas police and NIA presented different and often contradictory evidence it raises question on the entire case.”
