Amritsar, Punjab: As per certain media reports senior advocate H S Phoolka has announced to join Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Advocate H S Phoolka said that he would join AAP to ensure good governance and freedom from moral and economic corruption.
“After 30 years of being a social and legal activist on justice and equality and legal education and anti-communal violence, I want to be an active part of this social revolution – thus joining AAP is my natural choice,” he said.

According to Times of India (TOI) Advocate Phoolka didn’t clarify his intentions when asked whether he would contest ensuing Lok Sabha elections on AAP’s ticket. “It is up to the party to decide,” he said.
About AAP’s leaders role in November 1984 Sikh carnage related cases, Advocate Phoolka said that AAP’s Shanti Bhushan had appeared in the case against Jagdish Tytler, one of alleged accused in the anti Sikh riots case, besides he said that Prashant Bhushan was regularly in touch with him to give his advise from time to time in these cases.
“Shanti Bhushan also gave his affidavit before Nanavati Commission stating that Narasimha Rao wanted to call the Army but Rao did not succeed in convincing the authorities” said Phoolka . He further said that both Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan had gone to Tirlokpuri area on November 2, 1984, along with a group of Supreme Court lawyers in their effort to stop the killings. He further said that Yogendra Yadav was anchor of the debate during the release of the book “When a Tree Shook in Delhi” authored by him and Manoj Mitta.
About Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, he said that they had fasted at Jantar Mantar in May 2013 in support of Nirprit Kaur demanding the formation of SIT in the cases of November 1984 carnage related cases and filing of missing chargesheet against Sajjan Kumar for murder of four Sikhs in Nangloi police station.
