As per YesPunjab.Com news report the Punjab Police was aware of the action plan of Haryana Police and they had given go ahead to the Haryana Police party in this regard. Amritsar Police Commissioner Ram Singh confirmed that Baba Daduwal was arrested. He, however, didn’t reveal the reason of arrest to the media.

It has been learnt that Haryana Police had, in fact, asked the immigration authorities to detain Baba Daduwal as and when he lands at the Airport and inform them.

It is presumed that he had been arrested in a case dating back to year 2007 in which he was booked for a duel that had taken place on the day of a Bandh observed against the wrongdoings of Gurmit Ram Rahim, the Head of Dera Sirsa. A source said that he had been declared a proclaimed offender in this case.

Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar, Khalsa Action Committee and Dal Khalsa have reportedly condemned the police action and the arrest of Baba Daduwal.
