Sikhs in Melbourne protest against Amitabh Bachchan’s visit in Australia

Melbourne, Australia (May 05, 2014): It is learnt that Indian film-star Amitabh Bachchan had to face tough situation in Australia as dozens of Sikhs protested against his presence in Australia.

Amitabh Bachchan who is accused by many of the survivors for instigating the violence during the Sikh genocide 1984 in Delhi.

Amitabh Bachchan was in Australia to attended the Indian Film Festival, Melbourne on May 2, 2014. The even took place at Princess Theatre in Melbourne.

According to local sources, nearly 50 Sikhs protested in front of Princess Theatre. They were holding banners and posters in their hands against Amitabh Bachchan for his alleged role in 1984 Sikh genocide.

According to reports the protesters distributed pamphlets to the passing by people who were interested in knowing more about the protest.

Fearing to face the protesters and their slogans, Amitabh Bachchan chose back door to enter in theatre.

It is notable that Sikh genocide victims and survivors have been accusing Amitabh Bachchan for raising slogans like “Khoon Ka Badla Khoon” (Blood for Blood) on India’s government owned Television called DoorDarshan after Indira Gandhi’s assassination. Bibi Jagdish Kaur, one of the prime witnesses against Indian politician Sajjan Kumar in Trilokpuri Sikh massacre related case, has claimed that she had herself watched Amitabh Bachchan raising such slogans against the Sikhs.

It may be recalled that Indira Gandhi’s assassination was followed by genocidal violence against the Sikhs throughout India, in about ten thousand of Sikhs were brutally massacred and burnt alive.
