Bapu Tarlok Singh, father of Shaheed Satwant Singh, passed away yesterday at a hospital in Amritsar. Bapu Tarlok Singh’s family members said that last rites of Bapu Tarlok Singh’s body will be performed on Tuesday (May 12), as his son Swaran Singh is yet to arrive from New Zealand.

Bapu Tarlok Singh passed away on May 8, 2015 at Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar. Bapu Tarlok Singh was a tough personality who had bravely faced state oppression after his son, Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh (along with Shaheed Beant Singh) assassinated the then Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984.
