The candidature of a former hijacker Bhola Pandey from Salempur constituency of UP by Congress for the fourth time in a row has given handle to Sikh group Dal Khalsa to draw comparison between the treatment meted out to him and Dal Khalsa leader Gajinder Singh, who hijacked an Indian Airline plane and who is on India's most wanted list.
Amritsar, Punjab (March 05, 2014): While blaming government for allegedly tarnishing the image of its founder Bhai Gajinder Singh by placing his name in the list of 20 most wanted persons, Dal Khalsa, Sikh radical organization's, president HS Dhami said on Monday that "party mentor will not surrender nor will compromise with the cause and mission".

New Delhi/Ludhiana, India/Punjab (December 04, 2012): It is learnt that Bhai Satnam Singh Paunta Sahib and Tejinderpal Singh who, sent back to India in 2000 after serving a life term in Pakistan for hijacking an Air India plane to Pakistan in 1981, have moved the Delhi High Court for quashing a fresh trial against them in India for the same act.
Ludhiana (September 02, 2012): A Delhi based Indian Court is reported to have issued “non-bailable” warrants against five Sikhs who were involved in hijacking an Air India plane to Pakistan in 1981. It is notable that only two of the five persons currently reside in India.
