Marking 78th International Human Rights Day, the Dal Khalsa held a Panthik Conference at Gurdwara Sahib, B-Block, Randhir Avenue, Amritsar (Punjab).
Sikhs worldwide have been urged to observe #BlackTurbanDay on 10 December 2023 to mark the 75th anniversary of one of the world's most ground breaking global pledges: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
A Sikh lawyer and human rights activist Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur has given a call to the global Sikh community to mark 10 December as Black Turban Day. Notably, 10th December marks the annual International Human Rights Day and the United Nations theme on this day for 2023 is “Freedom, Equality and Justice for All”.
In its global report Amnesty has stated that In India, journalists, rights activists, and those advocating the rights of ethnic and religious minorities, Dalits and Adivasis (tribal) are among those at risk of attack.”
