Jagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Act 2008

Sikh Jatha Malwa has demanded the repeal of both the 2008 and 2026 Satkar Acts, rejecting amendments and asserting that matters concerning the reverence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib should remain under the authority of the Guru Khalsa Panth through Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Amid growing controversy over the newly proposed 2026 Amendment, prominent Sikh intellectuals and legal experts are urging the community to reject state interference and demand the repeal of both the 2026 Amendment and the original 2008 Act.
The Akal Takht has reportedly taken a serious note of the Guru Granth Sahib being prepared in two parts instead of as a ‘single entity’ in Canada. The issue was brought to the notice of takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh by members of the Sant Samaj in a memorandum submitted to him.
