SGPC has reportedly called an emergency meeting of the Executive Committee on January 1 in the wake of an ultimatum served by the Panj Pyaras to release Giani Gurbachan Singh and four other jathedars.
Renewing their earlier stance the Panj Piaras of the Akal Takhat Sahib today asked the Shriomani Gurdwara Pharbandhak Committee (SGPC) to release the Giani Gurbachan Singh and other persons who were holding the position of Sikh jathedars from their services as Takhat Jatehdars by 1 January 2016.

In clear indication of extreme degeneration, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Wednesday suspended ‘Panj Pyaras’ of Akal Takhat Sahib just hours after they summoned five Jathedars, including Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, for their role in granting pardon to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a blasphemy case.
