Social Media Censorship Against Sikhs Continues in India; Jakara Movement’s Twitter Handle Blocked

Indian government’s censorship against Sikhs, including Sikh media houses, continues and many Sikh websites and social media handles stand blocked in India. On 6 June 2022, the Government of India had blocked websites and social media platforms of Sikh media houses like Sikh Siyasat, TV84, Apna Sanjha Punjab, KTV UK and Akaal Channel. Though Akaal Channel’s social media platforms were unblocked in India, others stand blocked till date.

Jailed for 26 Years, Sikh Political Prisoner Prof. Bhullar Awaits Formal Release Order To Be Issued by Kejriwal Led AAP Govt. 

Sikh political prisoner Professor Davinderpal Singh Bhullar is awaiting a formal release order as all legal barriers in his release are removed. His release is ordered by the Union government of India which is endorsed by the Punjab government and local authorities. The only remaining formality remains is issuance of release order which is to be issued by the Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi.

Ludhiana (August 14, 2012): Lawsuit filed by Sikhs for Justice against Punjab chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in Untied States has altered supporters of Badal Dal in Canada. It is learnt that some Non-Resident Indian (NRI) bodies have advised the Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir S. Badal to cancel his forthcoming visit to Canada, following the recent incident of lawsuit against Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal by Sikhs for Justice.

London, England (March 23, 2012): In a communication sent to Sikh Siyasat by Sikh Federation UK (dated: 19 March, 2012) it is said that: "More than two-thirds of countries in the world have now abolished the death penalty in law or practice. However, India, the world’s so-called largest democracy is preparing to break its moratorium on the death penalty by hanging Balwant Singh on 31 March 2012 at 9am in Central Jail, Patiala."
