Sikh History Removed From Text Books of PSEB

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP from Sangrur has questioned the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) for its silence over distortion of Sikh history by the Hinduva fountainhead Rashtrya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS). Taking to media persons Bhagwant Mann said that why SGPC was not speaking out against distortion of history by the RSS?
The Dal Khalsa today called upon the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to set up a 5-member committee of renowned Sikhs historians and academicians not aligned to any political party to review all the books on Sikh and Punjab history especially about Ten Guru Sahiban and their period written during the last 30 years.
Endorsing the distortion of facts in Class XII book prepared by Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), the six-member oversight committee constituted by the state government has recommended that the new books be withdrawn.
The oversight committee formed by the state government to analyse the contents of PSEB class XII history book reportedly held its first meeting in Patiala on Monday (May 28).
