SIT on Bargari Beadbi Case and Behbal Kalan Police Firing

A Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan police firing of 2015, has nominated former Punjab Director General of Police as an accused in related case registered at Kotakpura city police station in 2018.
Burj Jawahar Singh Wala case is not the first case in which DSS chief is named by the Punjab police. He was earlier named by the state police in 2007 ‘Salabatpura case’.
The Special Investigative Team (SIT) formed to investigate police firing incident at Behbal Kalan has arrested a lawyer named Sohail Brar, who is accused of fabricating bullet marks on a police escort vehicle in the Behbal Kalan police firing case.
The Supreme Court of India (SCU) today (Feb. 20) dismissed the CBI's plea challenging the Punjab and Haryana High Court order by which it had last year refused to interfere with the Punjab government decision to take back all Beadbi cases from the CBI.
Dal Khalsa leaders Hardeep Singh Mehraj and Paramjeet Singh Tanda declared "Punjab will oppose such sinister designs of RSS and won't become part of Hindu rashtra".
Dal Khalsa today reasserted that justice in Bargarhi sacrilege case has not only been denied but sabotaged by both Badal and Amarinder Government.
Fifty-three days after filing a closure report in Bargari beadbi cases of 2015, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday (August 23) took a U-turn and filed an application in the special CBI court, Mohali, saying it wants to re-probe the case.
Taking exception over the CBI closure report and the shared stand by Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president Sukhbir Singh Badal in the Bargari beadbi case, the Dal Khalsa said it looks both (CBI and Sukhbir Singh Badal) have same interests to help Dera Sauda Sirsa to come clean out of the sin of beadbi.
In a scathing attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal)’s history of somersaults in recent times, the Dal Khalsa has observed that Badals speak for Panth when out of power and their conduct is anti-Panth when in power.
Accused in Saka Kotkapura case, suspended Punjab police IG Paramraj Umranangal and former SSP Charanjit Sharma did not appear in the court on Monday (June 10), when the court was set to hear the case against them.
