WSO President says, “We are glad that bearded Sikh RCMP officers will be able to return to operational duties like Sikh officers in every other police force across Canada. The affected Sikh RCMP officers were feeling disheartened that this situation had dragged out for six months and this will be a relief to them".

WSO & Community Partners Call for Accommodation of Sikh Paramedics in Ontario

The WSO and several community organizations, including the Centre for Israel & Jewish Affairs (CIJA), National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), Bahá’í Community of Canada and The Mosaic Institute, have written to Ontario Minister of Health Christine Elliott, calling for the accommodation of Sikh paramedics and others who maintain beards as a part of their religious observance.
