A press release by the World Sikh Council - America Region (WSC-AR) says that the organization was extremely saddened by the barbaric act of violence on the Charlie Hebdo office in downtown Paris, France on January 7, 2015.

A press release by World Sikh Council - America Region (WSC-AR) says that the US based body is deeply concerned about the situation developing in Punjab arising out of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa’s efforts to persuade the Indian government to follow the law of the land. Gurbaksh Singh is on a hunger strike since November 14, 2014 to seek release of seven Sikh prisoners who have completed the minimum mandatory terms of their sentences. This is a second time he has gone on an indefinite hunger strike

Washington, United States (June 11, 2014): World Sikh Council - America Region (WSC-AR) condemns the actions of all parties who drew swords that resulted in uncontrolled outbursts inside the Darbar Sahib Complex at Akal Takhat Sahib in the midst of the 30 year commemoration of the Indian government planned attack on the Complex in June 1984.
