Tytler’s Role in Sikh Genocide 1984 – US Based Witness Jasbir Singh teady to testify before Indian Court

New Delhi, India (May 25, 2012): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF – Peermohammad) President Karnail Singh Peermohammad who led the “Justice Rally” outside the Karkardooma Court where additional sessions Judge K. S Pal held the hearing released a sworn statement of US based witness to the media. The key witness Jasbir Singh is willing to come to India and testify before the court against Senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler for organizing killing of Sikhs during November 1984.

California based Jasbir Singh, a former resident of Delhi, heard and saw Tytler on November 3, 1984, rebuking his supporters for not killing enough Sikhs. Jasbir Singh fled India in 2002 to save his life because he was constantly receiving serious threats and warnings ever since he gave affidavit to Nanavati Commission against Congress leader Tytler implicating him as one of the leading conspirator and mastermind of 1984 Sikh Genocide.

Challenging CBI’s determination of “lack of evidence” against Tytler’s involvement, Jasbir Singh who lost more than two dozen family members during November 1984, states in his affidavit that despite threat to his life, he is “willing to come to India and testify before the court if murder charges are filed against Jagdish Tytler.”

AISSF President Peermohammad stated that “now that US based witness Jasbir Singh has announced to come to India to testify in the court, CBI should withdraw the closure report and should file murder charges against Tytler”. Since Nanavati Commission found evidence of Tytler’s involvement in November 1984 killing of Sikhs, CBI has been acting as Tytler’s defense team instead of booking Tytler u/s 302, added Peermohammad.

According to Babu Singh Dukhiya, President, “National 1984 Victims Justice and Welfare Society” stated that for the last 27 years, victims of Sikh Genocide have been seeking justice but successive Congress governments have been successfully shielding the perpetrators and leaders who organized the killing of Sikhs. It is ironic that thousands of Sikhs were murdered in broad day light in the first week of November 1984 but CBI failed to find any culprits, added Dukhiya.

AISSF, Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), “National 1984 Victims Justice and Welfare Society members and hundreds of victims of November 1984 Sikh Genocide who participated in the “Justice Rally” outside the Karkardooma Court demanded filing of murder charges against Tytler for his role in leading mob that attacked Gurudwara Pulbangash in which several Sikhs were burnt alive.
