London, UK (January 13, 2014): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) the documentary evidence has emerged, 30 years on, of direct British Government assistance to the Indian Government in the June 1984 genocide of Sikhs in Punjab.

Top Secret UK government documents, released under the UK 30-year disclosure rule, reveal direct British Government military support to the Indian government in its preparation and carrying out of the notorious genocidal military onslaught on Punjab in June 1984.

The UK Government documents, dated 6th and 23th February 1984, state that the Indian government has sought advice from the British Government on the removal of “Sikh extremists from the Golden Temple in Amritsar” and the British Foreign Secretary has decided to “respond favourably to the Indian request”.

A UK SAS military office was sent to assist the Indian government.

Copies of the ‘top secret’ documents, recently released under 30-year disclosure rule are available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN).

The documents were uncovered by Phil Miller, an independent journalist, who has researched and written on the very similar Tamil genocide in Sri Lanka and wider human rights issues. 3

“June 1984 resulted in thousands of civilian deaths, disappearances and wider devastation. It was 9-11 many, many times over. It was India’s war on the Sikh nation” says Jagdeesh Singh of the 1984 Genocide Coalition. “The above documents amount to explosive evidence of British government participation in this mammoth crime against humanity, and confirmation of what we suspected all along.”

Jagdeesh Singh says, “2014 is the 30th anniversary of the horrific 1984 genocide, during which enormous Sikhs were killed by the Indian state, as part of a two-pronged and two-phased genocidal onslaught in Punjab and Delhi on the Sikh population.”

1984 represents a horrific crime against humanity. The Indian government launched a direct, vicious war on Punjab in June 1984. Indian troops invaded and occupied Punjab. Over 1-6th June 1984, they bombarded the Sikh national shrine of the Golden Temple in Amritsar, with tanks and helicopter gunships. Sikh men, women and children in large numbers were viciously killed, their bodies stripped of clothing and belongings and then they were cremated en-mass.

“The entirety of Punjab was closed off from the world and turned into a mammoth concentration camp, as Indian soldiers went through all villages – arresting, torturing, killing and raping. The British Government has a direct hand in this mass murder”, reads a press release sent to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) by Jagdesh Singh.

The press release by 1984 Genocide Coalition further reads:

“The British Government has persistently sided with the Indian Government on all matters, wholly rejecting calls by Sikhs, Dalits, Kashmiris, Muslims and other communities within the Indian state for human rights and justice. These documents now confirm the depth of this murderous collusion”.

“The British government, as against ordinary British people, is guilty as hell. It has participated in the genocide of the Sikhs and many other peoples across the world in collusion with vicious governments like India. It has orchestrated wars and military conflicts in participation with the USA government from London, causing mass murder and devastation to hundreds of thousands of human civilians in Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, Pakistan. It supports dictators, then suddenly decides to topple them. Both during the colonial period and still now, the British government persists in unethical global meddling, disruption, expansion and scheming”.

“The Sikh people are another victim, like the Palestinians, Kurds, Tamils, Kashmiris, Baluchis, Pashtuns, Tibetans, Azerberjaini, Riff, of this global inter-play between the big governments of the world.” said Jagdeesh Singh.
