October 15, 2013 | By

London, United Kingdom (October 15, 2013): It is learnt that a UK court has deferred the sentencing of four Sikhs, including one woman, to December 10, 2013. They were convicted of carrying out an attack on Indian Army’s retired Lt. General Kuldip Brar who had led the Indian army’s attack on Sikh Gurdwaras across Punjab and adjoining states in June 1984, including Darbar Sahib, Amritsar.

Attack on Darbar Sahib complex was codenamed as “Operation Bluestar” by Indian Army. During this attack thousands of innocent Sikh pilgrims were massacred by the Indian army and huge damage was done to the sacred Sikh shrine.

It is notable that Kuldip Brar who was visiting UK last year was attacked by some Sikhs in London. The UK police charged four Sikhs for this attack. While Barjinder Singh Sangha, 33, had pleaded guilty to the offence early on in the case, Mandeep Singh Sandhu, 34, Dilbagh Singh, 36, and Harjit Kaur, 38, were found guilty following a trial at Southwark Crown Court in London on July 31, 2013.
