California, United States of America (June 15, 2014): According to media reports Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal, who is currently touring in United States of America, had to face wrath of a sections Punjabis there because of his election favour to Punjab’s ruling party during last Lok Sabha elections.
According to a news reported by Punjab Spectrum (PS), Gippy’s show in California has been opposed by the local community due to his endorsement of SAD & Parkash Singh Badal during the Lok Sabha election campaign.
A Punjabi news channel ABP Sanjha has also reported this matter (see video below).
It is notable that Gippy Grewal had released a video praising the achievements of Badal-BJP alliance government in Punjab. He had reportedly urged people to vote for Badal Dal during Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year. It may also be recalled that following a strong reaction from his fans over Facebook, Gippy Grewal had apologized for his political endorsement in favor of Badal-BJP combine.
According to Punjab Spectrum: [n]ot only in USA but in Canada too, Gippy has faced the same response.
