Norwich, USA: The City of Norwich will host a special Sikh Flag Raising Ceremony on Saturday, June 21 at 2:00 PM at Norwich City Hall. The ceremony is being organized to celebrate and honor the vibrant Sikh community in Norwich and recognize their contributions to the city. City officials said the event will feature the traditional Hoisting of the Sikh flag and cultural observances in a formal ceremony open to the public. In addition to the flag-raising event, organizers have scheduled a guided tour of the nearby Sikh Art Gallery on the same day. The tour begins at 12:00 PM at the Sikh Art Gallery (7 Clinic Drive, Norwich, CT).

The Sikh Art Gallery serves as an inclusive museum and cultural center focusing on Sikh history and heritage. Local leaders encourage community members and families of all backgrounds to attend both the noon gallery tour and the afternoon flag-raising ceremony, noting that the celebrations are meant to be participatory and informative.
Norwich City Council member Swaranjit Singh, who is also director of the Sikh Art Gallery, emphasized that the City’s collaboration with the Sikh community helps foster unity and understanding among all Norwich residents.
