Baba Harnam Singh Urges Indian President to Set Free 22 Sikh Political Prisoners

Amritsar: Baba Harnam Singh, chief of Damdami Taksal (Mehta) has appealed to the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind to release 22 Sikh lifers ahead of 550th Parkash Gurpurab of Guru Nanak Ji in November 2019.

Baba Harnam Singh, who is also president of Sant Samaj, has sent a letter to Ram Das Kovind seeking to remit the sentence of 22 Sikh political prisoner sentenced to undergo imprisonment for life.

Taksal chief has urged Indian president to use his powers under Article 72 of the Indian Constitution to order release of these prisoners.
