The Moga police have registered a criminal case against 80 Sikhs on the complaint of dera followers. The accused named in the FIR include Sarpanch of Village Dhudike, a Zila Parishad member and a circle president of the Youth Akali Dal, Moga.

Dera followers have claimed that some of their vehicles set on fire by members of the opponent group.

Tension had been prevailing in Dhudike for the past three days after the dera followers announced to hold a block-level “charcha” in the grain market there. This was being opposed by members of the local Sikh sangat.

It is notable that the Sikh sangat is opposing the dera sauda activities since 2007 in accordance with directive issued by Akal Takht Sahib in wake of anti-Sikh activities of the Dera Sauda Sirsa (DSS) chief.
