Jagtar Singh Tara sent to judicial custody by Jalandhar court

Jalandhar: Turning down the police’s demand for extending police remand of Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara, a Jalandhar court on Monday (February 02) sent him to 14-day judicial custody.

On January 27, the Jalandhar (Rural) police had secured Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara’s custody for five days. He was then lodged at the Ropar jail.

On February 01, the police had pleaded before the court that Jagar Singh Tara’s police remand be extended for five more days as they had to recover the weapons allegedly concealed by the militant at Sriganganagar. But the court only granted a day’s additional custody for interrogation.

Media reports say that senior police officials of the district were tightlipped on what transpired during the interrogation.
