Municipal Corporation Polls: Congress Releases List Of Candidates For 3 Cities MC Seats

Chandigarh: In the forth coming Municipal Corporation (MC) elections in 3 major cities of Punjab, the state Congress today released its list of candidates for Jalandhar, Patiala and Amritsar Municipal Committee election 2017.
The list so released consist of 25 candidates for Patiala, 79 candidates for Jalandhar and 80 candidates for Amritsar city Municipal Corporation seats.
While speaking with the media a party spokesman said that today, with the announcement of 25 names, 56 candidates have been announced for Patiala’s 60 wards and only 4 candidates have to make the announcement. Earlier, the party had declared 31 candidates from Patiala.
From Jalandhar, the party has released the names of 79 candidates, with whom there is yet to decide for a candidate. The spokesman said that two existing members were not given tickets in Jalandhar, including J. Pradip and Baldev of Jalandhar Western Region. They were not given tickets due to indiscipline because they had already rebelled against the party and they were suspended for this misbehavior.
Furthermore, the spokesman stated that for Amritsar, Punjab Congress has announced 80 candidates for 85 wards.
