Exposing “Clip Politics” on Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar’s Issue

For past few weeks Sikh activists in Punjab have been raising the issue of permanent release of Sikh Political Prisoner Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar, who has been behind the bars since 1996. His permanent release was cleared by Union government of India in 2019 but his release was stayed by the Supreme Court of India as the court had installed ‘status quo’ after Maninder Bitta had field a petition against Prof. Bhullar’s release. It is notable that the Supreme Court of India lifted the ‘status quo’ when it dismissed Maninder Bitta’s petition on 9 December 2021. His release is now pending with the sentence review board of Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi.
Earlier Aam Aadmi Party candidates in Punjab, including CM candidate Bhagwant Mann and Kharar candidate Anmol Gagan Mann tired to misled people by falsely stating that Prof. Bhullar’s file for permanent release pending with Lt. Governor of Delhi. These lies were exposed when Arvind Kejriwal himself clarified that Prof. Bhullar’s case pending before the sentence review board (SRB) of Delhi.
On February 6, many persons, supposed to be supporters of Aam Aadmi Party started targeting Sikh activists demanding release of Prof. Bhullar. These persons shared a 29 seconds video clip showing Prof. Bhullar’s wife saying that Prof. Bhullar’s case was not released to vote politics and it should not be made issue of vote politics.
In this video Sikh Siyasat editor Parmjeet Singh Gazi analysis the “clip issue” and exposes the “clip politics” being played by these people, supposed to be supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party.
