November 9, 2017 | By

Jalandhar/ Chandigarh: Relatives of British citizen Jagtar Singh have asserted that he is falsely implicated by the Punjab police various cases including the killings of RSS activists in Punjab. Jagtar Singh Johal is a UK born British citizen and his family resides in UK. He had come to Punjab for his own wedding that took place on October 18. Jagtar Singh’s ancestral village is Jandiala Manjhki and only his grand mother resides in his ancestral house. Jagtar Singh’s grand mother said that the police had came to their house for search but did not disclose the matter or whereabouts of Jagtar Singh.

It is notable that Jagtar Singh was picked up by the police on November 4 from Rama Mandi (Jalandhar) when he was travelling to Chandigarh his wife and another female relative. The police had told Jagtar Singh’s wife that they were from CID wing of Faridkot police and Jagtar Singh was being taken to Faridkot. But he was taken to Baghapurana by Moga police. His in laws said that the police deliberately extended them wrong information that kept looking him with the Faridkot police. Meanwhile the Baghapurana police presented him before a duty magistrate on Sunday (Nov. 5) and took his police remand for five days.

With the arrest of Jagtar Singh and three others, the police had claimed to solve various cases of killings, including the case related to killings of RSS leaders Jagdish Gagneja and Ravinder Gosain, Christian pastor Sultan Masih and two followers of Dera Sauda Sirsa.

Jagtar Singh’s in-laws have termed the police story, narrated by CM Capt. Amarinder Singh and Punjab police chief DGP Suresh Arora, as false and fabricated. His mother in law Amandeep Kaur maintained that her son-in law was not involved in any such matter and police has falsely framed him.

Meanwhile, the police has brought Sikh political prisoner Harminder Singh Mintoo from Nabha jail on production warrants and he is taken on remand by Baghapurana police. Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur informed that another Nabha jail inmate Harbinder Singh who was brought on production warrants by Ludhiana police was back to judicial custody in Nabha jail yesterday.
